Amy, a Wyoming native, grew up in a creative and active environment, spending most of her time dancing, painting, skiing and acting. She moved to New York City in 2005 to attend the American Musical and Dramatic Academy. While in New York City, she began taking lessons with Pam Pardi. Amy quickly felt connected to Pilates and wanted to share that experience with others. In her own practice, Pilates helped her to regain strength and balance after a medical setback, an experience that deepened her connection to the method.
Amy received her Romana’s Pilates certification through True Pilates New York, where she studied the authentic Pilates method as Joseph Pilates handed down to his protégé, Romana Kryzanowska. She completed the demanding 800 hour program with a deep knowledge of the exercises and how to take an individualized approach to each body. Amy has studied under many master teachers including Sari Mejia Santo, Cynthia Shipley, Jerome Weinberg, Pam Pardi, and Javier Velasquez and attends many continuing education workshops. She is thankful to have the opportunity to share her love of Pilates with others and looks forward to a lifetime of studying and teaching Pilates.
