All proceeds to benefit the Christian Counseling & Family Life Center, 25 Church Street, Shelton CT. A non-profit organization providing professional therapy to many across Connecticut, regardless of religious affiliations or background.
The United Nations has declared the year 2009 as the Year Of Reconciliation and Forgiveness. They have brought the Mizero Children’s Choir (Mizero means Hope)from Rwanda to spread the word of peace and forgiveness through their songs and dance (see attached for more info)
Jean Paul Samputu, the founder of the Mizero Children, watched in horror during the Rwanda Genocide as his best friend killed his mother and his father. He lived with the anger and retaliation of wanting to kill his friend until those feelings consumed him. Only until he obtained the courage and strength to forgive his friend could he move forward with life. Since then, he and his friend are crusaders in spreading this message of forgiveness through the children, so that Rwanda can move past the hatred and become united once again. His testimony is powerful!
Tranquility Mind & Body Wellness Spa is pleased to host Jean Paul Samputu and the Mizero Children on December 29, 2008 at 6:00 pm. Tranquility has invited the community to come and see the Mizero Children perform at the Spa, 88 Noble Avenue, Milford, CT, 203-877-7115.
During the day, Tranquility will be giving the children something they’ve never had before….Spa Treatments to relax them and help them on their journey. Tranquility has also helped in providing housing for the children during their stay in Connecticut.
Let them humble us through these times. One cannot imagine the turmoil these children have in their lives; as the spark in their eyes and the love in their heart never give them away.
Come and meet these amazing children as they embrace the gift of life!
