Kundalini Yoga is the Yoga of Awareness. In Kundalini Yoga we harness the mental, physical, and nervous energies of the body and use those energies to get deep within the Soul. Kundalini combines breath, mudra, eye-focus, mantra, body locks, and postures to balance the glandular system, strengthen the nervous system, expand lung capacity, and purify the blood. It moves energy up the spine and brings balance to the body, mind, and soul.
Pilates classes strengthen the spine, alleviate back problems, increase muscular flexibility, reduce tension and improve joint pain to arthritis sufferers. Studies have shown that Pilates increases bone density and helps fight osteoporosis. Breathing is also improved, which aids relaxation and reduces anxiety. Pilates is great cross-training for any sport or activity.
